Cami’s Courage Crew
We as a community are rallying around Cami and her family as they pursue treatment at Neurosolutions in Austin, TX. This center provides VSEL stem cell therapy and low-level laser therapy, which in Cami’s case will focus mostly on her brain to help support new pathways for communication, balance, and coordination.
Cami is 5 years old, and her story has been marked by immense challenges from the moment she arrived. A missed diagnosis of a congenital heart defect, followed by discoveries of chromosomal abnormalities, shaped her earliest days in ways no family is prepared for. Her parents were told she would likely never understand much of the world around her and would not be able to eat safely. After a long hospital stay, multiple life-threatening moments, and eventual heart repair, she developed pulmonary hypertension and came home with a trach and ventilator.
In the years since, Cami has walked through respiratory illnesses, GI complications, UTIs, a tethered cord release, and bilateral hip surgery — and through every chapter, she has shown a strength that defies the odds placed on her. She is now trach-free, her pulmonary hypertension has resolved, and she shows small but meaningful signs of progress in the therapies she works so hard in.
Cami may face significant challenges each day, but she meets this world with a quiet resilience that reminds everyone around her to hope. Her family believes deeply that she has more potential waiting to be unlocked, and they are committed to giving her every chance to grow, connect, and experience more of life in her own beautiful way. The treatment at Neurosolutions is one of those hopeful opportunities.
The team is recommending VSEL therapy followed by a 3-week intensive, including 4 hours of treatment each weekday during a stay in Austin. None of this is covered by insurance. The full cost of treatment is $49,265, not including hotel and travel for the three-week stay. The breakdown is:
- Consult – $515 (already paid)
- VSEL Therapy – $11,200
- Three-Week Intensive – $28,500
- Labs – $2,600 - Paid and done
- EV – $5,200
- Medical Director Visit – $1,250
