In Support of Brian Hoehler

Our world was turned upside down when our dad, Brian, was unexpectedly diagnosed with stage 3 oropharyngeal (throat) cancer.

Brian is a former Cincinnati police officer, current pastor of New Hope Community Church, co-founder of Table of Hope Food Pantry, father of three, grandfather of eight, and is set to graduate in two weeks to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. He has spent his life serving and caring for others, and now he is facing a battle none of us saw coming.

Our dad is preparing to undergo at least 8 weeks of extremely difficult treatment. Because of the radiation to his throat, he will likely lose the ability to swallow and require a feeding tube.

His cancer was discovered after he was hospitalized with a painful bladder issue. We are praying this can be resolved quickly so Brian can regain his strength before treatment begins.

Just weeks ago, he was preparing to graduate and begin his counseling career. Instead, cancer has put everything on hold. The medical, household, and living expenses ahead for our parents are overwhelming, so we are asking for help as we walk through this unexpected season. 
The battle has already begun with our medical coverage and treatment centers that are supposed to be “in network” yet are refusing our coverage. 
We have created an Amazon wish list for some of the practical needs that will come with his treatment and recovery. We hope this will help ease the stress they are facing.

More than anything, we are asking for prayer. Please pray for complete healing, wisdom for his doctors, strength for our dad (& mom) and peace and provision for our family.

We are shocked and terrified, but we know we serve a big God. Even when everything feels shaken, we are choosing to stand on solid ground and trust Him.
