In Support of The Jones Family

It's hard to believe I am writing something like this again, but, here we are.

After 4 terrible rounds of chemotherapy last summer and radiation this Spring, the testicular cancer in Brad's stomach is STILL growing. When Brad's latest labs came back, we sought a 2nd opinion from an Oncologist at Fred Hutch (who came highly recommended by Brad's Neuro-Oncologist) and he has proposed high-dose chemotherapy with 2 stem cell transplants. Because it takes a transplant team some time to assemble, Brad will be having 1 or 2 doses of TIP chemotherapy first, each of which comes with a 5 day stay in the hospital at the University of Washington. He will start treatment on August 12th.

In just a few weeks, Brad was going to start his dream job (a PE teacher!) at his beloved Monument Elementary where he has been teaching 5th grade for the last 11 years. We want to get him back to his new position as quickly as we can.

The stem cell transplants will require us to relocate to Seattle for 3 months. I don't know what this looks like quite yet for our entire family unit, but we do know that renting an apartment within 30 minutes of the hospital will be challenging to our finances and this is where we could use the most help right now. Financial donations will help us with rent, travel and loss of income. 

We will also need help at our home, and this site seems to be a good centralized place to add updates and communicate those needs as they come.

Our community has been with us through an unbelievable amount of challenging times, we are incredibly grateful to have so many people ready and waiting to help us in whatever way we need. Thank you for loving on my family. When people say things like "I don't know how you do it" or "You are so strong" it's not because I am some sort of superwoman - it's because I (and my family) have so many people lifting us up. So thank you.....again.
