My family is currently homeless after exhausting all of our funds simply trying to stay safe, keep our belongings out of the elements, and avoid sleeping in the cold. We now have nothing left to secure a new place to live, and the uncertainty is overwhelming.
Living on benefits does not allow us to save for moving costs, deposits, or pet fees, even though we are doing everything we can to find stable housing. The funds raised will go directly toward moving into a safe home, including the security deposit, first month’s rent, pet fees, and bringing our stored belongings back.
Last year, we lived in a severely neglected home where promised repairs were never made, and despite our efforts to resolve the situation, we were taken to court and forced out. We are not asking for extras. We are asking for a chance to reset and rebuild safely.
