In Support of Ana Martinez
Dear family, friends, and everyone who has been praying for and supporting my mom, Ana,
I’m reaching out with a very heavy heart to share an update on my mom’s cancer journey and to ask for help as we enter another difficult chapter.
When my mom began chemotherapy, we were so hopeful and thankfully, the treatment was working. Her tumors had shrunk by approximately 30%, and her doctors were seeing a very good response. After everything she had already endured, that news gave our family so much hope.
Unfortunately, just as we were seeing progress, my mom developed a severe allergic reaction to the chemotherapy and was no longer able to continue that treatment. She also experienced other significant side effects, and the treatment that had been helping her had to come to an end.
Since then, we have received the news we were praying not to hear.
Her most recent scans show that the cancer has begun growing again, and there are also signs of further progression and spread.
As her daughter, it is incredibly difficult to watch my mom go through this. She has fought so hard through surgery, hospital stays, chemotherapy, complications, and so many difficult days and yet she continues to show an incredible amount of strength.
We are not giving up.
Her medical team is now looking into additional treatment options, including clinical trials and other therapies. At the same time, our family wants to continue supporting her body through integrative and holistic care, nutrition, supplements, and other supportive treatments alongside her medical care.
Unfortunately, many of these options are not covered by insurance, and the expenses continue to grow.
More than anything, I want to give my mom every possible chance to keep fighting while also helping her feel stronger, more comfortable, and supported during this journey.
