In Support of Alli & Jeff Winston

Alli & Jeff Winston
Dear friends and family,

After much hesitation and deliberation, we have decided that it is essential at this time to share our experience and reach out for assistance from our friends and family.

This past August, after spending a week in Asheville's Epileptic Monitoring Unit, Alli was diagnosed with Functional Neurological Disorder (FND) with Functional Seizures. Alli is currently experiencing 10-12 full-body seizures a day which has been physically and emotionally debilitating.
These are Non-Epileptic Seizures and there are no medications that effectively treat this disorder.
The long road ahead will be financially exhaustive, as the handful of specialized multidisciplinary FND programs are extremely expensive and most do not accept or deal with insurance.
Alli has also not been able to work, and will not be able to do so for the foreseeable future, which will create an even bigger financial strain.
100% of funds raised will go toward Alli's treatment.

Outside of these financial  hardships, it's not currently safe for Alli to be alone, and although Jeff works from home, it would be helpful to have people spend time with her to allow him to handle responsibilities outside of the house. If you choose this option, Jeff will personally coordinate times with you to help out.

Your financial and/or emotional support will make a big difference during this incredibly challenging time, and even if you are unable to provide any assistance yourself, please feel free to share this request with your family, friends, and online communities.

One last request, if you have any experience with FND or connections to any neurologists or neuropsychologists who specialize in non-epileptic seizures, please feel free to send us a message through this portal.

We are extremely grateful for all your support.
