Support Addison Stavar's Recovery Journey

One Day, One Step at a Time

On Monday, May 12, our daughter Addison Stavar was riding her scooter at the Hill Country Galleria when she was struck by a motor vehicle. She was flown by helicopter to Dell Children’s Hospital in Mueller, where she spent 12 days in the ICU and 9 days waiting for a spot in inpatient rehab

Now, Addison has officially begun inpatient rehabilitation to work toward regaining the abilities she’s lost — including walking, talking, and eating on her own. Rehab could last 6–12 weeks or longer, and we are walking through this new chapter one day at a time.

💔 The Injuries Addison is Facing

Addison sustained:

  • Two skull fractures

  • Brain bleeding and damage to both sides of her cerebellum

  • A fractured collarbone, broken ribs, and damage to her spleen and liver

  • Ligament damage in her neck (she remains in a collar)

  • An NG tube for feeding

  • And was intubated for nearly two weeks

We are just beginning to understand the road ahead, and with each day in rehab, we learn more about her needs — and her strength.

💛 What We’re Facing Next

Right now, we’re still in a whirlwind — trying to absorb information, make decisions, and keep hope alive. Here are just a few of the therapies and supports we’re considering for Addison’s continued healing:

  • Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT) with Dr. Harch in New Orleans

    • Approx. $14,000 for treatment

    • Approx. $12,000 for an at-home chamber

  • Outpatient Intensive Therapy (motor, speech, feeding, etc.)

    • Around $8,000 per session (before travel and lodging)

  • Functional Neurology and Feeding Intensives

    • Estimated $7,000 for an intensive block

  • Ongoing hospital costs, imaging, and transport

  • Travel and accommodations for out-of-state treatment

These are just some of the possibilities we're exploring — and we’re taking things one step at a time as Addison’s needs become clearer.

✍️ We’ll Keep You Updated

This page will grow with Addison. We’ll share:

  • New milestones and therapy decisions

  • Ways you can lend a hand

  • Prayer requests and celebrations

  • And Addison’s strength in the face of the unknown

🧡 Why We're Moving to SupportNow

We’re transitioning from GoFundMe to this SupportNow page because it gives us:

  • A platform to keep more of the donations through round-up gifts

  • The ability to list practical needs like gas cards, meals, and supplies

  • A space to journal Addison’s story and share updates on her progress and care

🙌 With Love and Gratitude

Thank you for being here. Thank you for caring. Whether you give, share, or pray — you are part of Addison’s story, and we are so grateful to have you walking with us.
