In Support of The Grzybowski Family

The Grzybowski Family
💗 Please help us wrap our arms around Lyric and her family. 💗

No parent ever expects to hear the words, “Your child has Type 1 Diabetes.” After a trip to the Children's hospital leading to a stay in the PICU due to their daughter being in DKA, this is the Grzybowski family’s new reality.

In what feels like an instant, Lyric’s world—and her family’s world—changed. Instead of simply being able to focus on being a kid, there are now insulin injections, blood sugar checks, doctor appointments, constant monitoring, and so much for her parents to learn and navigate. There is fear, exhaustion, and a whole new reality that none of them asked for.

Matthew and Elisa are doing what any parents would do—they are putting everything aside to be there for their little girl.

They will need to take time away from work throughout the next several weeks to help manage Lyric’s insulin, learn what her body needs, and take her to the many follow-up appointments ahead. But because they are both new in their jobs, they aren't eligible for FMLA yet. Some of the time they need to spend caring for Lyric will be unpaid.

And this isn't just a family of three trying to navigate this. They have five children.

Five little lives depending on them. Five kids who still need dinner, rides, bedtime stories, hugs, and all the normal things that don't stop just because life suddenly became much harder.

I know there are so many families who need help, and I know everyone has their own struggles. But if you can give even a little, it could mean the world to this family right now. It could help take away just a little of the financial stress so Matthew and Elisa can focus on what they should be focusing on—their daughter.

Let's help carry this family while they learn how to carry this new diagnosis. ❤️

Lyric has a long road ahead of her, but she doesn't have to walk it alone.

💗 Please consider helping Lyric and her family today. 💗
