Faith, Hope, and Pixie Dust
We wanted to explain a little bit about why this page exists. Since Pippa’s diagnosis, we have realised that people care enormously about Mollie, Ethan and the girls, but sometimes they are not quite sure what to say.
People worry about asking the wrong question.
They worry about upsetting them.
They worry that asking how Pippa is doing might make Mollie or Ethan have to talk about something at a moment when they really do not want to.
And the truth is, there probably will be times when talking about it feels easy, and other times when it really does not. So this page is partly a way of taking some of that pressure away.
It gives us somewhere to share what is happening with Pippa, explain some of the things everyone is learning, celebrate her progress, and keep the people who love this family up to date without Mollie and Ethan having to tell the whole story over and over again.
It also means nobody has to feel nervous about asking.
You can follow along here, and if Mollie and Ethan want to talk about something more, they will.
There is another reason too. People say it takes a village, and right now that feels particularly true.
Mollie and Ethan are still raising three little girls, working, managing appointments, therapies, paperwork and all the ordinary parts of family life at the same time.
There may be moments along the way when a little practical help would make a real difference.
- A meal.
- Help with one of the girls.
- A ride.
- Someone picking something up.
Or perhaps something connected with Pippa’s care that suddenly brings an unexpected expense. And if that happens, this page gives us a way to say so.
Not because Mollie and Ethan want pity. And certainly not because they want to feel as though they are begging anyone for help.
Quite the opposite. They are fiercely independent, and I suspect sometimes asking for help will be one of the hardest parts of all of this.
So I am hoping this page can make that easier.
If something would genuinely help them, I can put it here. People who want to help can do so, and nobody has to have an awkward conversation about it.
Mostly, though, this page is simply about keeping their village close.
It is about sharing the good things as well as the hard things.
Celebrating Pippa.
Supporting Harper and Thea.
Supporting Mollie and Ethan.
And giving the people who love them a way to be part of their lives through all of this.
So if you are here, thank you.
You are part of the village. ❤️
