Hi everyone,
I’m writing this for my sister and her family, with their permission, because they’ve been through an incredibly difficult season and still need support as they work to recover—both medically and financially.
Last August, their financial situation changed suddenly when my brother-in-law lost a well-paying job. While he was able to find new employment fairly quickly, the significant decrease in income has made it very hard for them to keep up with everyday expenses. My sister works full-time as a paraprofessional while also pursuing her bachelor’s degree, all while carrying the family’s health insurance.
Even with both of them working hard, they’ve been doing everything they can just to stay afloat.
Recently, their situation became even more overwhelming when doctors found concerning spots during a CT scan that were feared to be cancer. Because of financial barriers, some of the necessary testing had to be delayed while they waited for hospital assistance approval. This added even more stress and uncertainty to an already difficult situation.
We are incredibly grateful to share that after a biopsy and PET scan, the results came back showing that the concerning spots are gone. This is nothing short of a blessing, and we truly thank God for this outcome.
However, there is still a mass in his back that has been confirmed as benign. While it is not cancerous, it is located directly behind a nerve and is causing ongoing pain. It may still need to be surgically removed, which means additional medical care and expenses are likely ahead.
During this time, the financial strain has continued to build. They are currently behind on their mortgage, struggling to keep up with utilities, behind on a vehicle payment, and unable to stay current on credit card obligations.
Right now, their focus is on the essentials—getting to work, providing for their children, and maintaining insurance so he can continue receiving care.
This is a family that has always worked hard and tried to do the right thing. They are also the kind of people who give to others whenever they can, even when they don’t have much themselves. Their children and each other are their top priority.
They understand that many families are facing hardships right now, and asking for help is not something they take lightly. But after months of stress, uncertainty, and financial strain, they truly need support to regain stability.
Any donation, no matter the amount, or even simply sharing this page, would mean more than words can express. Your support will go directly toward helping them catch up on essential expenses and prepare for any additional medical needs ahead.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read their story, for your prayers, and for any support you are able to give.
