Sir Isaac’s Story
Sir Isaac — Isaac Oates — is a 7-year-old miracle. When he was just 19 months old, he survived a near-drowning, and his recovery since then has been nothing short of the glory of God on display. He continues to overcome the challenges that come with an anoxic brain injury, and his family has watched him push forward with strength beyond his years.
Why a Wheelchair-Accessible Van Is Needed
As Isaac grows, helping him in and out of the car — along with lifting his wheelchair — has become physically overwhelming for his family. And as he gets closer to needing a motorized wheelchair, transporting him the way they do now will become impossible. Having a safe, dependable vehicle that fits his needs isn’t optional anymore — it’s essential for his therapies, medical appointments, and everyday life.
Typically, wheelchair-accessible vans cost $70,000–$90,000. By an incredible blessing, the family found a fully converted van for $40,000 — something that almost never comes available at this price. It truly feels like a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, and after speaking with an advocate, they knew they needed to move quickly before it was gone.
Why They’re Asking for Support
The costs of Isaac’s ongoing care have already put a significant financial burden on their family’s shoulders, and this is not an expense anyone could prepare for. Many of you have asked how you can help — and meeting this need would be the greatest support in this season.
Why SupportNow
The Oates family chose SupportNow because families keep more of the money here than on any other platform, allowing your generosity to go directly toward Isaac’s needs. It also gives them a place to share updates, prayer requests, and progress throughout this journey.
