Hi everyone, I'm Katie!
On January 17, 2024, which was a special day because it was my son Sebastian's 10th birthday, we had an unexpected trip to the hospital. Sebastian had a really big headache and felt super sick. It was a super scary moment for his dad and me when we found out Sebastian has a brain tumor. After some tests, the doctors told us it's a very tough kind of cancer called diffuse midline glioma, and it's at stage 4.
Hearing that Sebastian might only have 1 to 2 years with us was the hardest thing ever. But, the doctors said even though there's no cure right now, Sebastian can try some special treatments that might help him live longer. They told us to keep our hopes up high, and we’re doing just that! We believe cancer definitely picked the wrong kid to mess with. Sebastian is almost done with a treatment called radiation to make the tumor smaller, and the best doctors are helping us find the best treatments for him.
We're asking for a little help during this tough time. We want to spend as much time as possible with Sebastian and need some support for his medical care and traveling for treatments. But most of all, we really want your prayers and happy thoughts .
Despite everything, Sebastian keeps making us smile and isn't letting cancer bring him down. He's our little hero .
