Dear family and friends, we know many of you have been asking how you can support Scarlett and our family during this difficult time, and we are thankful for all of your love and prayers.
Everything happened so fast. Scarlett suffered a collapsed lung Wednesday June 24th, and after three ambulance rides and over a week at Seattle Children's Hospital, we learned that she has High-Risk Multi-System LCH. She has lesions on her central skull base, face bones, spine, ribs, pelvis, right distal femur, lungs, liver and spleen. She has started chemotherapy, and we know this is going to be a long journey. Right now, our biggest concern is her lungs. She has multiple cysts, and air continues to leak between her right lung and chest wall, making it hard for her lung to fully heal. LCH is not cancer but more so a cell mutation that impacts the bones, tissue, and organs. It is treated like Cancer though so she will be undergoing Chemo treatments for about a year.Β
We would be grateful if you would continue to keep Scarlett and our family in your thoughts and prayers as we take this one day at a time. For those who have asked how they can help, any donations will go toward food, hotel stays while we're at the hospital, medical expenses, and making our home more accessible for Scarlett during her treatment and recovery. Thank you for loving our girl and for being there for our family. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean more to us than we can ever say.
