In late March, what began as a fun family day quickly turned into every mother’s worst nightmare. Nicole and her son Jacob were out riding ATVs together, making memories and enjoying time as a family, when Nicole suddenly experienced a seizure and became unconscious.
During this terrifying moment, Jacob — who is diagnosed with non-verbal autism — made his way back toward the house. By the grace of God, a caring angel discovered Nicole unconscious and was able to locate Jacob as a house fire broke out. Tragically, the fire consumed the family’s home, and Jacob suffered burns as a result.
As you can imagine, this has been an incredibly traumatic and overwhelming season for Nicole and Jacob. Through it all, Nicole is deeply thankful that Jacob is alive and continuing to recover. Jacob is a joyful, fun-loving boy who loves people and enjoys riding his ATV, swimming, skiing, and simply soaking up life. His smile and spirit continue to shine even in the middle of unimaginable hardship.
We are asking our community to come together around Nicole and Jacob during this difficult time. Not only are they facing medical recovery and emotional healing, but they are also having to rebuild and replace the belongings and home they lost in the fire.
Nicole will use this page to keep everyone updated on Jacob’s recovery, healing progress, replacement needs, and the journey ahead. We encourage you to follow, pray for, and support Nicole and Jacob however you can. It will truly take a community to help them get back on their feet — but we know that when people come together, support can be felt no matter how far away.
Please keep Jacob’s recovery and Nicole’s strength, provision, and peace in your prayers during this time. Every prayer, share, and act of support means more than words can express.
All proceeds will go directly toward helping Nicole and Jacob rebuild, recover, and move forward together.
