In July 2026, my sister Kristi was diagnosed with stage IV triple positive metastatic breast cancer that has spread to her liver. As her oldest sister, it is hard to put into words what it feels like to watch someone you have loved your entire life face something like this. Kristi is preparing to begin treatment, and there are still many unknowns about what the coming months will look like.

Kristi and her husband, Ray, are self-employed and run a leather repair business together. Time away from work for treatment and the days Kristi may not feel well enough to work will mean lost income, in addition to the medical expenses she is facing. We created this fundraiser to help ease some of that financial burden so Kristi can focus on taking care of herself. There are also ways to help by sending a meal or lending a hand as needs arise, and we will continue to update this page with ways to support her.

We hope this page can be a way for all of us who love Kristi to rally around her. Whether through a donation, a meal, lending a hand, sharing this page, or simply reminding her how loved she is, every bit of support means something. There are a lot of unknowns ahead, but there is also hope, and she will have so many people beside her as she takes this one step at a time.
