Hello family and friends!
Kelsey Allen and Jessie Sterbenz are going through a challenging time after a fire broke out at their home early Sunday morning, August 9th, 2026. The newlyweds were taken to a local hospital and are thankfully recovering from non-life-threatening injuries. However, their beloved cats suffered more serious injuries and need special care at the animal hospital. The firefighters were able to rescue their two youngest cats Gary and Gus. Their youngest kitten Gus was resuscitated by firefighters on scene before being transported to the animal hospital, we are told they are doing well and in stable condition. Their two dogs Leroy and Lacey as well as their eldest cat Atticus were quickly removed from the home and are being cared for by close friends.
Donations will help support the couple with housing and medical bills as they will be unable to return home indefinitely at this point.
