Help Jude Walk Freely: Support His SDR Journey
Our courageous son, Jude, is a bright and determined 5-year-old who brings joy to everyone he meets. After seemingly endless research and medical consultations, we scheduled Jude to undergo Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy (SDR), a specialized spinal surgery aimed at reducing the muscle spasticity caused by cerebral palsy. This potentially life-changing procedure offers Jude the chance to improve his mobility and gain greater independence in his daily life.
While SDR is a significant step forward, it marks the beginning of an intensive rehabilitation journey.
Jude will require rigorous physical therapy—five (5) sessions per week for the first six months, followed by continued therapy for at least a year.
Unfortunately, our insurance does not cover all the necessary therapy sessions, leaving us responsible for nearly $18,000 out-of-pocket for the surgery and the initial year of his rehabilitation.
