After experiencing back pain for several months that wouldn’t improve, Jess underwent scans to determine the cause. The scans revealed cancerous lesions on her spine and other areas of her skeletal system. Doctors then had to determine where the cancer originated and after countless tests and traveling to Plattsburgh, Burlington, and Boston, she received the diagnosis: stage 4 breast cancer, ER/PR-negative and HER2-positive.
While stage 4 breast cancer is not currently considered curable, Jess has been accepted into a study through Dana-Farber Cancer Institute that is working to find a cure for her particular type of cancer. The treatment will require significant travel, ongoing care, and difficult side effects.
Everyday tasks that once seemed insignificant, washing her feet in the shower, scooping the litter box, getting dressed, or simply moving around without a cane or grabber, have become difficult. Jess knows the chemotherapy side effects may be challenging, but she remains incredibly hopeful that treatment will help her feel like herself again.
This Support Registry is designed to give clear direction to everyone who wants to help Jess and her family. Whether through financial support, meals, or lending a hand, every contribution makes a meaningful difference.
