In Support of James Strebeck

Two months ago, James Strebeck started sixth grade. Despite the challenges of starting middle school as the new kid, he adapted well. He excelled as the goalie for the school's soccer team.

About a month into school, James passed out at school. This resulted in a head injury, ambulance transport, and 7.5 hours in the emergency room at Children's Hospital.

He passed out 15 more times before being admitted to the hospital a month after the first episode. He received a diagnosis of postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) at that time. He has missed >50% of his school days since his diagnosis. When he can, he attends half days in a wheelchair.

The team at Children's has helped with initial steps to treat POTS, but now James needs to travel to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota for further assessment and treatment.

Because the Mayo Clinic is out of network, James's care will cost $10,000 (his out of pocket max) before insurance contributes. Travel expenses and Laura's (his mama's) lost wages will cost another $5,000.  Please join us as we rally around the Strebeck family to help make this medical care an option for them.  If they don't have the money up front they cannot attend the clinic at all.  Thank you in advance for your support and love.
