My niece wasn't even wearing shoes when she escaped her burning home. My nephew burned his hands, trying to take a burning chair out of the house, but it was too late... The shock has worn off, and it's pure devastation now. 

A year and a half after their dad left, and now this. Life was already challenging, but they were trying to make the best of things. At least they had a place to call home. Not even a month after their sixteenth birthdays, and this is what's left of their home.

Update: Their family of 3 is now staying in separate places: my niece is staying at her boyfriend's, my nephew is staying with a friend, and my sister was staying in her broken car. My heart is broken for them. She was able to use donated funds to put a down payment on a working car today. Thank you sooo much!! ❤️

The kids turned 16 last month, so they are of the age to work. They're applying for jobs... Growing up faster than they probably planned at that age, but I pray they'll be stronger through this tragedy. 

Looking at the pictures of their burned beds and nightstands is the hardest part for me 😢 

We are so far away and are trying to come together to help them little by little, but we truly can't do it on our own. Thank God for the families in Arkansas who have taken the kids in and for friends, the church, the red cross, family, friends and others who have shared kind words of hope, offered to help by sending goods, given so generously, and prayed for my family!! It means more than you'll ever know.
