Harvie
is a sweet, beautiful 21-month-old girl with an incredible spirit and so much potential.
Despite her joyful smile and bright eyes, her journey began with unimaginable challenges.
Harvie
was born in May 2024 prematurely at 33 weeks and 2 days, and shortly after birth,
she nearly lost her life. Following a severe medication reaction, her heart
stopped for approximately 15 minutes. In those moments, the world stood still while
Harvie decided to fight. Fight for her life. God graciously breathed life back into
her tiny body and He decided He wasn’t done with her yet.
After
33 long days in the NICU where Harvie fought for her life, she was able to go home.
The months that followed were filled with appointments, uncertainty, and learning
words no parent ever expects to hear, but they were also filled with hope.
In
January 2025, Harvie was diagnosed with infantile spasms — an incredibly rare and
severe form of infant seizures. She began one of the most intense treatments available,
and watching her endure the side effects was heartbreaking. There were long days
and even longer nights filled with rocking, singing, and praying — asking God to
ease her pain and give her strength for just one more moment.
After
49 days, Harvie beat infantile spasms. A diagnosis that so many children do not
overcome. This became another place where God showed up. Once again, He reminded
us that He was not finished with her story.
Since then,
Harvie has also been diagnosed with hypotonia and cerebral palsy, caused by the
brain injury she sustained from oxygen deprivation after birth. She continues to
experience seizures, but they are currently controlled with medication.
Since
April 2025 alone, Harvie has completed over 150 therapy sessions. She participates
in physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy, with a strong focus
on building head and trunk control — a foundational strength that will support everything
else.
Despite the long hours of therapy, she is full of
light, full of determination, and full of promise. From the very beginning, we have
believed in Harvie and she continues to show us she’s a fighter. She wants more,
she fights for more, and we believe she will accomplish more.Â
Paige
and Zach are fully committed to giving Harvie every opportunity to thrive. They
believe deeply in early intervention, knowing these early years are critical in
shaping her mobility, strength, independence, and future.
She
is currently attending DMI intensive therapy programs, with hopes of attending 3-4
intensives each year.
They are also prayerfully exploring
stem cell treatment options that could potentially be life-changing for her.
As
many families discover, the therapies that truly change a child’s trajectory are
often not covered by insurance and frequently require travel. Intensives and specialized
treatments can range from $7,000–$12,000 per session — sometimes including travel,
sometimes not.
But how do you put a price on a child’s
health… their abilities… their future?
Through it all,
God has remained faithful. We celebrate every inch-stone because none of them are
small.
This page is a place to rally around her — to follow
her journey, to pray, to share, and to support her therapies and treatments as she
continues to defy the odds.
✨ Paige and Zach will
be posting updates here. Please follow, share, and stand with Harvie as we continue
believing in her bright future.✨
