Hello family and friends.

Our kind friend and St. Petersburg native, Haley Plum, and her beloved dog, Fletcher, were greatly impacted by Hurricane Helene, the worst storm to affect the Tampa Bay area in over 100 years. This past Thursday, Haley's home located in Shore Acres was flooded inside and outside with five feet of surge salt and sewage water. 

Haley has essentially lost everything to the storm — everything from small things like shoes and clothing to her brand new washer and dryer. The floors, doors and garage door have warped, become broken and are unusable. Her home is completely inhabitable. The insurance company has given an estimate of over six months for her home to be even near livable again, so now she and Fletcher are currently displaced in temporary housing. Considering the fact that Haley’s full-time job is completely remote, this causes additional disruptions in her day-to-day life. The road to recovery is long and uncertain.

Haley is known for her generosity and her love for her hometown and the people in it. Whether it’s helping neighbors in need or offering a kind word, she’s always there for others. Now the time has come for us to be there for her. We, her friends, are launching this effort to show Haley and Fletcher that they are not alone in this. Community support will not only help financially, but also emotionally, as Haley rebuilds her life. Though we cannot replace many sentimental and valuable items, our intention is to alleviate the financial burden with the transition, cover unexpected expenses, but most importantly to show Haley the outpouring of love that her community has for her and Fletcher.
