In Support of Emily Powers

On April 8th, Emily received a Stage 2 Breast Cancer diagnosis (invasive ductal carcinoma), that also has spread to one lymph node. She will undergo a bilateral mastectomy on April 23rd, chemotherapy over the summer months, and potentially radiation this fall.

This page is built to organize all the updates and support in one place. We all know how vital a young mom's role is to running a home, and Emily will need to depend on her village in this next season like never before!

A Meal Train has already been started by her nearby homeschool community who can logistically best deliver fresh meals to her doorstep in Odenville.

BUT for family and friends a little further away that still want to help, I have set up other ways to help her practically and equally important, under the "Needs" section of this page. Through sponsoring a monthly house cleaning service and collecting funds to purchase gift cards for takeout from their favorite local restaurants and grocery.

As her sister, I am not surprised by the overhwelming support she has already been shown in these early days of this diagnosis. But what I do know for certain, is that God is everpresent and takes care of his children in all life's moments - the happy and the sad. And this next chapter of Emily's life is no exception! I believe that's how you've found yourself on this page, is the desire to know how to specifically pray for and support Emily!

She will have access to reading your encouraging words here - so please leave her a positive message as you follow along!

If you have any questions, please don't hestitate to reach out to me! Thank you from the bottom of our family's heart for your prayers and generosity!
