Meet Davey
Davey just turned two years old and is a deeply loved little boy with a determined spirit and so much potential ahead of him. During pregnancy, Davey was diagnosed with congenital CMV, which has led to developmental delays and neurological challenges. His journey has been different than most toddlers, but his family continues to see signs of progress and possibility every day.
Right now, Davey is working toward milestones like sitting, crawling, and walking. His parents, Carrie and Ryan, are committed to giving him every opportunity to grow and thrive. Davey currently receives physical therapy, occupational therapy, and speech therapy through Early Childhood Intervention (ECI) in Texas twice per month. With these therapies, they have already begun to see gradual improvement.
Davey’s therapy team believes that multiple rounds of intensive physical therapy could significantly help him build strength, coordination, and motor skills during this critical stage of development. Most therapy intensives run 2–3 weeks per session, with therapy costs averaging $2,400 per week, plus approximately $1,500 per week in travel expenses for the family to access these specialized programs. As you can imagine, pursuing several rounds of intensive therapy quickly becomes a very expensive journey.
Because Davey is only two years old, this is an especially important window of opportunity. The brain’s neuroplasticity at this age means that the earlier and more consistently he receives intensive therapy, the greater the potential impact on his development. Carrie and Ryan are hoping to take advantage of this critical time by enrolling Davey in as many therapy intensives as possible to help him gain the skills he needs to move, explore, and interact with the world around him.
Your support can help give Davey access to these life-changing therapy opportunities and help his family continue fighting for every milestone ahead. Every act of kindness brings Davey one step closer to reaching his fullest potential. 💙
