In Support of Dave, Alynda, and Jack

We're reaching out to ask for your support for Dave Savage, Alynda Wheat, and their son Jack (because we know they would never ask themselves). As many of you know, Dave was recently diagnosed with glioblastoma, a rare and aggressive brain cancer. The family is facing an incredibly difficult journey, and is grateful for the outpouring of love and support from people near and far.

We thought this would be a good way to organize updates and support all in one place.  Any help—emotional or practical—is extremely meaningful as they navigate this challenging time together.

There are a few simple ways you can help the family:

  1. Choose from Support Registry options. If you are local, you can help by recommending lawn care and other household services, checking up on their dog, Spencer, or helping with tasks or errands. If you're not in Seattle, then sending good wishes or information about treatments is always helpful. Dave and Alynda will always be grateful for gifts or gift cards, but  don't expect any kind of monetary support. [Alynda: In this economy?! Hell no!]
  2. Check in to see how the family is doing. At the moment, they prefer texts, emails, and scheduled visits rather than phone calls or spontaneous visits. They may not always be able to respond, but they are seeing and appreciating your messages.
  3. Share the link to this SupportNow page. Spread the word to family and friends. Tell others about their story and how they can help.
  4. Follow "Updates" to stay informed. We will be updating this page periodically.

Dave, Alynda, and Jack truly appreciate any support you can give. Let's come together as a community to show them they're not alone.

One word… wow. And no other words can convey my sympathy, dismay, and shock. I hate this so much for you guys and pray that in whatever time there is left, you experience even more love and joy than you have already. Warmest, Shea and family

Alynda & Dave I’ve been off of Facebook but got this message. This is terrible news. I’m here if you want someone to shout at or cry with or whatever.

Everything I start to write seems entirely too inadequate. I love you, and I’m so sorry. The ride you have us laughing through together is truly insane. Peace be with you ♥️♥️
