In Support of Darlene Davie

Well, here we are again.  Darlene has been diagnosed with cancer for the third time in twenty years.  Those of you close to us know she had Nasopharyngeal Carcinoma in 2004 and fought HARD for about a year to beat it.  She had 15 good years until it re-appeared in 2019 in her lung.  Sugery was the best option, so surgery it was!  Now she has been diagnosed with possibly the same cancer, but possibly a new cancer across her throat and base of her tongue.  We don't have all of the details yet to say for sure, but we know there is another fight on the horizon for her.  More scans and appointments this week and next, while making a treatment plan.  She will have a team of experts figuring out the best approach-if surgery is an option, chemotherapy and possibly even radiation (although that is tricky, given the amount of radiation she had in 2004 and the damage it caused to the area).  We need to weigh treatment options vs damage it may cause vs quality of her life, given the location of tumor.

Using this platform, we will be able to provide regular updates in one place.  

Many of you will want to reach out to Darlene to offer words of support, which she would LOVE.  However, speaking on the phone for long periods of time really wears her out so we ask for short phone calls OR text messages instead.
