My mom has asked me to provide an update here.....we thought she had beaten cancer..... sadly, she has not. She is now on hospice with no other options for a cure or treatment. She is unable to accept phone calls but text messages are ok. We appreciate your love, support and prayers of comfort for her at this time.

Oh what a heavy heart and flowing tears reading this. Sweet Darlenee has such a special place in my heart since I met her. Her strength, courage and determination always has made me try a little harder. I love her and will pray for her peace and comfort as she prepares for her graduation to return home.

Darlene, this breaks my heart for you and your family. You are one of those special people God put in my life our years we worked side by side at SU. You worked rings around all of us and did it with such pride and professionalism. I remember when you fought this years ago and sorry you have had to fight it again. I know you have done it with every ounce you have, still with grace and faith. Let that faith give you the peace and strength you need to face each day. Please tell your mother how much I have always loved her! She always had my ‘back’ while working with her and was my biggest cheerleader. Always going beyond and above to help me out!
