Hello, my name is Chelsee Margavage and I want to share my story with you. I find myself in a challenging place—homeless, battling addiction, and wrestling with mental illness. My journey has been far from easy, but I believe that by sharing my experience, I can connect with those who might be willing to help.
Growing up in foster homes and group homes, I learned early on how to navigate life without the support of a traditional family. This upbringing shaped me in ways I’m still discovering. The absence of a stable home left me feeling lost and isolated, and those feelings have followed me into adulthood.
Today, I face the daunting challenges of homelessness. Every day feels like an uphill battle, with walls built from my past blocking my path to a brighter future. My service animal, Mylo is my constant companion, providing comfort and companionship as I navigate these obstacles. Together, we face the world, but I often feel like I'm doing it alone.
I’ve struggled with addiction, which has only added to my challenges. It’s a battle I’m working hard to overcome, but the road is long and winding. In addition to this, I’m learning to cope with mental health issues that I didn’t even realize I had until recently. Understanding these aspects of myself is crucial, but it can also be overwhelming.
What I truly desire is a safe space—a place to call home. It may not need to be big or fancy; I just need shelter from the elements and a sense of stability. I believe that with a roof over my head, I can begin to rebuild my life, focus on my recovery, and regain my footing in society.
I’m reaching out to you not just for financial help, but for guidance, support, and kindness in whatever form it may come. Whether it’s food, advice, or even just a listening ear, every little bit counts. I want to be better and do better. I want to contribute positively to our community, and I know that with the right support, I can overcome these hurdles.
If you resonate with my story or feel compelled to help, I welcome any assistance you can provide. Your support can make a meaningful difference in my life, and together we can foster hope and healing.
Thank you for taking the time to read my story. I’m hopeful for the future, and I appreciate any help you can offer on this journey toward recovery and a stable home.
