We are reaching out to rally support for our beloved friend and colleague, Cara Stronach, and her husband, Calum, as they face a challenging time. Cara recently received a diagnosis of breast cancer and is facing many changes to her daily life as she navigates this unexpected turn of events. Though the form of breast cancer she has is aggressive, there are many treatments available that are as aggressive to help her fight this battle. This necessitates a rigorous treatment plan, including fertility preservation, chemotherapy, targeted drug therapy, surgery, radiation, and ongoing maintenance medications for many years to keep the cancer at bay. Cara’s resilience and strength shine brightly as she navigates the demanding landscape of cancer treatment that has not only altered her daily life but also placed unforeseen emotional and financial burdens on her shoulders.
Cara has spent her career supporting others through pediatric occupational therapy and mentorship of other therapists, and we want to ensure that she is duly supported in this time of need. As she confronts the emotional toll of this battle, juggling work responsibilities and adjusting to the physical and emotional changes, she does so with unwavering strength and grace. This fundraising campaign is an opportunity for us to stand alongside Cara, offering our support to alleviate the financial strain she faces due to medical expenses and work reduction, ensuring that she can focus on healing and reclaiming her life. On behalf of Cara and Calum, we kindly ask for your support through contributing to Cara’s Support Now fund. Your contribution will not only provide vital financial assistance, allowing her to focus on treatment and healing, but will also be a testament to the power of a community rallying around one of its own during times of need.
Additionally, we would sincerely appreciate your assistance in spreading the word about Cara's Support Now page within your social circles and networks. Together, let's surround Cara with the love and resources she needs to overcome this challenge and emerge stronger than ever.
Cara is currently stable and not in immediate need of meals or acts of kindness. However, as she embarks on her treatment journey, we invite you to stay updated on her progress through this site.
