Hi everyone,
We are raising money for Butchie to help with the cost of his bills while he recovers. August definitely did not go as planned for him.
Butchie has been on workers’ compensation for almost six years while fighting to get the surgeries he needs for his neck and shoulder. He finally received a surgery date for his neck, but shortly before surgery, he started feeling ill and decided to see his primary care doctor.
They performed a heart test and discovered that his heart rhythm was abnormal. He was then referred to a cardiologist, where he underwent several tests. The cardiologist was concerned that there could be blockages, so they decided to perform a cardiac catheterization.
Unfortunately, they found four blockages and a leaky heart valve. Because of this, they were unable to place the stents he needed that day. Instead, the doctors determined that open-heart bypass surgery was necessary.
That brings us to where we are today. Butchie has had his bypass surgery and has experienced a few setbacks during his recovery. He is continuing to work toward getting his heart stronger and getting back on his feet.
As you can imagine, the medical bills and everyday expenses are beginning to add up. His workers’ compensation case is currently in appeal, and his Social Security Disability has still not been approved.
We are hoping to take a little bit of the financial stress off his shoulders while he focuses on what matters most right now—healing and getting stronger.
