“Update on Dad ❤️

As of today, Dad’s heart is still functioning slightly better than it was before, which is encouraging. They found some fluid in his left lung and were able to drain it.

They also started dialysis because his potassium was very high, which will help filter his blood. Tomorrow, the plan is to seal his chest and move the ECMO tubes to his neck and groin. If everything goes as planned, they may then begin waking him up.

He is currently on very low doses of his medications, which is another positive sign. From there, they’ll slowly begin weaning him off the machines and medications and see how his heart and body respond.

It’s going to be a long, slow process, but we’re taking it one step at a time. ❤️ We’re continuing to pray that his body keeps responding positively and that he can gradually come off the machines and start getting stronger.
