Six months ago, our lives changed forever.
What began as an unexpected hospitalization became a journey that tested every ounce of strength, faith, hope, and perseverance we had. Chris endured more than anyone should ever have to. There were countless procedures, hospital stays, setbacks, small victories, difficult decisions, and moments when we held onto hope with everything we had.
He fought every single day.
There were times we celebrated improvements and believed we were finally turning a corner. Then another obstacle would appear. Through it all, Chris never gave up. He faced every challenge with courage and determination, even when his body was exhausted.
Behind the scenes, there was another battle—one filled with endless phone calls, insurance approvals, denials, appeals, searching for the right level of care, and advocating for the treatment he needed. It was overwhelming, but he was worth every fight.
To everyone who prayed, sent messages, donated, visited, encouraged us, or simply stood beside us during this journey, thank you. Your love carried us through some of the darkest days of our lives.
On Saturday evening, Chris’s fight came to a peaceful end. He took his last breath in his sleep, with a peaceful smile on his face. While our hearts are shattered, there is comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain, no longer struggling to breathe, and no longer fighting a body that could not heal.
His battle is over. His suffering has ended. His victory is now eternal.
Funeral arrangements are currently being made. I will share the details here and on our Facebook pages as soon as they are finalized.
