In Support of Alma Jimenez

Hello to all our family and friends!

Those that know my mom (Alma Jimenez) know that she is one of the most hardworking, loving, supportive and generous people that there is and she is not one to take handouts but she is always the first to selflessly offer herself up to help others with whatever they may need. Now she is the one in need of some support and generosity. On Friday September 4th she was involved in a tragic car accident that left her with multiple serious injuries that resulted in 3 days in the surgical ICU and the car totaled. She is currently still in the hospital with no estimated discharge date, accruing medical bills that we haven't the slightest idea how to pay for as our mom does not have medical insurance. With her out of work for the foreseeable future the burden of all household bills now land on the shoulders of one of my brothers that still live at home with our mom. We obviously want her to focus on healing first and foremost so she can return back to health and to her home, and not have to worry about the financial struggles that lie ahead. It's a tough time, and we appreciate every bit of support and kindness you can offer.

Quienes conocen a mi mamá (Alma Jiménez) saben que es una de las personas más trabajadoras, cariñosas, apoyable y generosas que existen; no es alguien que busque recibir ayuda gratuita, pero siempre es la primera en ofrecerse desinteresadamente para ayudar a los demás en lo que necesiten. Ahora es ella quien necesita apoyo y generosidad. El viernes 4 de septiembre sufrió un trágico accidente automovilístico que le causó múltiples lesiones graves, lo que resultó en una estancia de tres días en la unidad de cuidados intensivos quirúrgicos y la pérdida total del vehículo. Actualmente sigue hospitalizada, sin fecha prevista de alta, y acumulando gastos médicos que no tenemos idea de cómo pagar, ya que nuestra mamá no cuenta con seguro médico. Al estar imposibilitada para trabajar en el futuro próximo, la carga de todos los gastos del hogar recae ahora sobre uno de mis hermanos que aún vive con ella. Naturalmente, queremos que ella se concentre ante todo en su recuperación para que pueda sanar y volver a casa, sin tener que preocuparse por las dificultades económicas que se avecinan. Son momentos difíciles y agradecemos cualquier muestra de apoyo y amabilidad que puedan brindar.

Hay varias formas de ayudar a Alma y a su familia durante este periodo complicado. Por favor, consulten nuestras sugerencias a continuación:
1. Elijan una opción de la lista de apoyo: Pueden donar dinero o tarjetas de regalo para cubrir necesidades inmediatas.
2. 'Compartan' para difundir el mensaje entre familiares y amigos: Cuantas más personas se enteren, más ayuda podremos reunir.
3. 'Sigan' las actualizaciones para mantenerse informados: Estén al tanto de la evolución de Alma y de cualquier necesidad de apoyo adicional.
