Hello, family and friends!
We are reaching out with a humble heart. I am a single mom of four children, three of whom have special needs and are dealing with the challenges of PTSD. Due to rising dangers in our previous neighborhood, we moved to a smaller town an hour away, hoping for a safer environment. Unfortunately, this move has left us without accessible resources like food pantries or support groups. Despite my 26 years of being a mom, for the first time, putting food on the table feels impossible. I have taken on various jobs, even trying to deliver food with my children in tow, all while juggling costly repairs on a worn-out car. Now, with Thanksgiving approaching, I am reaching out in hopes of finding some assistance during these challenging times.
Living on a limited income of $2,800 per month, with rent almost as high as my entire paycheck, it's an uphill battle. The car we rely on for so much needs more work, and my loan feels like an unreachable target. Having to decline birthday gifts for my children last month was heart-wrenching. I carry the guilt of asking for help, knowing others face even worse. Yet, seeing my children open an empty fridge repeatedly is tearing me apart. My hope is to gather enough support to make sure we can have some meals this coming month, and I'm grateful for any help that comes our way.
