Trippie has sadly been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a very aggressive bone cancer. Thankfully it has not spread yet and itβs just located in his hip at this moment. Due to the location of the tumor, how fast acting, and painful this cancer is the doctors strongly recommend amputating his hind leg along with half of his pelvis. Without surgery we unfortunately cannot get an idea of how much time he has left. As of right now his life expectancy is as little as a couple months without the procedure. We have been seen at the University of Illinois and have been in touch with a couple other universities further out as well. No appointment for the surgery has been made yet as we unfortunately cannot afford it ourselves. We have been quoted the surgery will likely cost close to $8,000 due to it being a more complicated procedure.Β
Thatβs why we have reached out to the ones we love. If you know either one of us (Alex or Maverick) then you know Trippie. He is our best friend and the best dog weβve had the opportunity to care for. Alex adopted Trippie from a kill shelter in Indianapolis October 25th of 2018. He had previously been returned due to being labeled βaggressiveβ, if you know him in the slightest you know thatβs far from true.Β Trippie is a friend to all, even if his manners arenβt the best at times. Heβs such a bright light in our lives and brings joy to everyone he meets. Trippie has become a fan favorite around our neighborhood and always greets anyone he can. Please help us keep our baby happy for as long as possible
