Support Tony Jones and His Family During His Recovery

On what should have been a joyful day celebrating community at Tacoma Pride, Tony Jones' life changed in an instant.

Tony (Leigh) Jones is Najah Monique Todd's devoted partner, a loving father, and someone always ready to lend a hand without expecting anything in return.

After parking the car to attend Tacoma Pride with his six-year-old child, Tony was violently assaulted after a brief interaction with an aggressive person on the street, unprovoked. Tragically, his child witnessed the attack.

As a result,
Tony sustained multiple facial fractures and a traumatic head injury. He now faces a long recovery journey that includes medical treatment, time away from work, and the emotional trauma this has inflicted on his entire family. Law enforcement has identified a suspect, witnesses have come forward, and the case remains under active investigation.

Anyone who knows Tony understands that he would much rather help others than seek help for himself. He is hardworking, generous, and fiercely devoted to his loved ones. This is exactly why we are asking for support on his behalf.

This fundraiser has been created with Tony's permission to help ease the financial burden while he and his family focus on healing. Donations will assist with:
  • Medical expenses and ongoing treatment -
  • Lost income during recovery -
  • Transportation to medical appointments -
  • Household and family expenses -
  • Counseling and other resources for the family, if needed -
  • Other unexpected expenses that often accompany recovery from a traumatic event

No family should have to navigate physical recovery, emotional trauma, and financial uncertainty all at once.

If you are able to contribute, no matter the amount, your generosity will make a significant difference. If donating isn't possible, sharing this fundraiser and keeping Tony and his family in your thoughts are also powerful ways to help.

A Personal Note -
Najah is my best friend, so I've come to know Tony over time. We quickly became friends, worked together, and supported each other through tough times. I have witnessed his quiet love and support for his family, characterized by humility and unwavering commitment. It's heartbreaking to see such kindness subjected to senseless violence.

I wholeheartedly believe our community would want to stand with Tony and Najah's family during this challenging time. This is about giving those who care about them a chance to help. It's about sharing some of their burden so they can focus on healing.

Thank you for showing Tony and his family love, compassion, and support during this incredibly difficult time. We will continue to share updates as they come and when the family is ready to share them. - Athena Hitson
