I honestly never thought I would be in a position where I would have to create a GoFundMe and ask for help. I'm used to working, providing for my family, and figuring things out even when life gets hard. But the last several weeks have been some of the scariest and most difficult of my life, and I've reached a point where I have to put my pride aside and admit that I need help.

After multiple trips to the emergency room, I found out that I was suffering from sepsis. I ended up hospitalized, had to go through procedures, treatment, and continuing to go through an incredibly painful recovery.

Finding out I had sepsis was terrifying. There were so many things running through my mind, but as a mother, one of my biggest fears wasn't even for myself. It was my child.

I'm a single mother, and my child depends on me. All I could think about was needing to get better and get home. I needed to be okay because I'm Mom. I'm the person who is supposed to be there, provide, take care of everything, and make sure we're okay.

I'm beyond grateful that I made it through the worst of it and that I'm here recovering, but unfortunately, this isn't over for me yet.

I have another surgery coming up, that means more medical expenses, more recovery, and more time before I can fully regain some sense of normalcy.

Because of the hospital stays, procedures, pain, and recovery, I was unable to work for a period of time and was without my normal income. I have since returned to work, which I am incredibly grateful for, but as a single mother, the time without income hit our household extremely hard. While my income stopped, unfortunately, the bills didn't.

On top of all of the medical expenses that have accumulated, I still have my regular household expenses. Rent, utilities, groceries, transportation, medications, and all of the everyday costs of raising a child and keeping a household going still have to be paid.

I've tried so hard to keep everything together and find a way to handle this on my own, but between the medical bills, the income I lost while I was unable to work, and knowing I still have another surgery and recovery ahead of me, it has become overwhelming.

I'm trying to stay positive and remind myself that this is temporary. I know I will get through this. I just need some help getting to the other side of it.

More than anything, I want to be able to focus on continuing to heal and working toward getting financially caught up without constantly worrying about how I'm going to keep a roof over our heads or which bill I can afford to pay next. I want my child to continue feeling safe and taken care of while I deal with something that has completely turned our lives upside down.

Asking for financial help is incredibly difficult for me. I'm used to being independent. I'm used to working and taking care of my responsibilities. I'm used to being the person my child can depend on. Having to admit that I can't carry everything by myself right now has been extremely humbling.

I'm not asking for anything beyond what we need to get through this difficult period. The money raised will help me catch up and stay current on our household bills, groceries, utilities, transportation, medications, medical expenses, and the expenses that will come with my upcoming surgery and recovery.

If you're able to donate, please know that no amount is too small. $5, $10, $20, or whatever you are comfortable giving truly adds up and makes a difference for us. If you're not in a position to donate, sharing this GoFundMe would mean just as much to me.

To everyone who has already prayed for me, checked on me, helped me, supported my family, or simply reminded me that people care, thank you from the bottom of my heart. ❤️

Going through sepsis has changed my perspective on so many things. As frightening and painful as this experience has been, more than anything, I am grateful.

I'm grateful that I'm still here.

I'm grateful that I get to be Mom.

I'm grateful that I get another day to love my child, take care of my family, and continue rebuilding the life I've worked so hard for.

Right now, I just need a little help getting there.

Thank you for taking the time to read my story. Thank you for praying for us, sharing this fundraiser, and helping in whatever way you're able to.

Every donation and every share helps take a little bit of this weight off my shoulders and allows me to focus on what matters most right now, getting healthy and being there for my child.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you. ❤️
