Supporting Najla & the Mouttaki Family 🤍
Â
The Mouttaki family recently received unexpected news that has quickly shifted their world. Their daughter, Najla, who is 13 years old, is now on a journey toward a heart and/or lung transplant—and right now, she is courageously taking each step forward.Â
Najla is currently admitted at UF Health Shands, where she received a ventricular assist device (VAD) on April 16th. This device is helping support her heart as she waits for the next step—a transplant that will give her the chance at renewed strength and healing.Â
Â
Those who know Najla know how special she is. She’s incredibly smart, deeply aware, and takes an active role in her care—often listening closely and engaging with her doctors during rounds. Her strength and spirit are something you can feel the moment you meet her.Â
Â
As a family, this moment came quickly. There’s still so much unfolding, and many who love them are just now learning what they’re walking through. This page is a place to stay connected—to receive updates, follow Najla’s journey, and be part of the support surrounding her.Â
Â
If you feel led to help, there are meaningful ways to show up:Â
- Financial support to help cover medical expenses not covered by insurance
- Supporting the family’s day-to-day needs during this time
- Prayers, encouragement, and sharing this page so others can follow and support.
Â
Every share helps widen the circle around Najla. Every bit of support reminds this family they are not walking this road alone.
Â
Thank you for being part of her story 🤍
