In Support of The Fickes

The Fickes
On Friday, October 23, our dear friend and loving mother, Jordan, unexpectedly suffered a stroke caused by a blood clot in a major artery leading to her brain. She underwent emergency surgery to remove the clot, which went well, and she continues to make progress. On Sunday, she was moved out of the ICU and is now working with her doctors to determine the next steps in her recovery.

Jordan is an incredible friend, wife, mom, and truly one of the most amazing people. She is the person who shows up for everyone else, and right now, we have an opportunity to show up for her.

While we don't yet know what her rehabilitation journey or timeline will look like, Jordan continues to show her resilience each day as she gains more mobility and we are hopeful, with time, she will make a full recovery.

For now, the most important thing is giving Jordan the time and space she needs to heal while surrounding her family with as much love and support as we can. She and Dan have four young children under the age of ten, and while they focus on her recovery and navigating what comes next, we would love to help carry some of the everyday things that don't stop during a crisis like this.

We created this page to give the people who love Jordan & Dan a place to help, whether through a financial contribution, meals, time, help with the kids, or other practical support.

As we learn more about her rehabilitation plan and what the coming weeks and months will look like, we’ll update this page with additional ways to help.

There is so much we don't know yet. But what we do know is that Jordan is incredibly loved, she has a huge community behind her, and she does not have to walk this road alone.

Thank you for loving her and her family, for giving them space to focus on healing, and for helping us surround them with support during this incredibly difficult time.

Right now, the best ways to help are:

Financial Support

Recovery comes with a lot of unknowns. Contributions can help give the family flexibility as they navigate medical care, rehabilitation, time away from work, childcare, and the unexpected expenses that may come with the weeks and months ahead.

Meals & Everyday Needs
Helping keep the refrigerator full and dinner on the table is one simple way to take something off the family's plate. We will share specific meal and grocery needs as we coordinate them.

Time & Practical Help
With four kids under ten, everyday life doesn't pause. As needs become clearer, we may ask for help with things like transportation, errands, childcare, school activities, or household tasks.

Love & Encouragement
Right now, rest and recovery are the priority. Please continue sending your love, encouragement, prayers or positive thoughts. We'll share updates here so the family doesn't have to individually respond to everyone who cares about her.
