In Support of The Enfield-Nieves Family

The Enfield-Nieves Family
We’re expecting twins, I’m hospitalized with an undiagnosed kidney condition, and Jeff is losing work hours to care for our kids — our family is fighting to stay stable during a medical crisis we never saw coming.

About a week ago, I began experiencing severe back pain and symptoms that looked like a UTI. After multiple tests, scans, and evaluations, doctors confirmed it wasn’t a UTI, wasn’t kidney stones, and wasn’t anything they could immediately identify. My condition worsened, and I was admitted to the hospital. I’ve already undergone surgery to support my kidney and bladder, but so far, nothing has relieved the pain or revealed the cause.

I’m now staying in the hospital so doctors can monitor me and the babies closely. The pain is constant and overwhelming, and the uncertainty has been terrifying.

This medical emergency has also forced my business to a complete standstill at the worst possible moment. Over the past few months, I’ve made major strides, and one of my biggest projects is on the verge of release — something that could significantly stabilize our family long‑term. But final polishing and deployment have been halted because I’m unable to work from the hospital. Everything we’ve built is temporarily frozen until I’m well enough to continue.

Meanwhile, Jeff has been put in an impossible position. When he was hired, his team immediately recognized his expertise and the quality of his work. They moved him up the chain of command at a record pace — finally acknowledging the level of skill and leadership he’s always brought to the table.

But now, with me hospitalized and Ry needing to be in school this week, Jeff has to be home with the kids. Our girls are too young to be left alone, and Ry has shown so much compassion and adaptability through all of this — but he still needs stability and routine. That means Jeff is losing hours no matter what, losing income we desperately need, simply because he has to keep our home functioning while I’m here.

No family should ever have to choose between financial stability and being present for each other during a crisis.

Our kids were able to spend a short weekend with Oma and Papa, giving them a small break from the stress at home. But the truth is, we’re struggling. Between rent, insurance, regular bills, and now mounting medical expenses, we’re falling behind fast.

We’re asking for help so our family can breathe — so Jeff can be present for the kids, so I can focus on healing, and so our babies can stay safe while doctors work to understand what’s happening. Your support also gives me the chance to recover enough to finish and launch my project, which would help us regain stability once this crisis passes.

Your donation helps with:

  • Keeping our home stable (rent + essential bills)

  • Medical expenses from hospitalization and surgery

  • Income lost while Jeff stays home with the kids

  • Allowing me time to recover enough to finish and launch my project

  • Giving our family the stability we need during this critical time

Every donation, no matter the amount, helps us stay housed, stay stable, and stay together.
If you can’t donate, sharing our story means the world to us.

Thank you for reading, thank you for caring, and thank you for giving our family a chance to get through this.
