In Support of Shari Dorsey and Family

Hello family and friends! 

The Dorsey family is facing a tough challenge. Shari, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend, was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 lung cancer. In the beginning of June, Shari was coughing and feeling short of breath - a CT scan showed a small mass in the upper lobe of her right lung that was thought to be pneumonia. Shari was treated for pneumonia but did not improve, and she began to feel fatigued and dizzy. On July 27, she went to the ER and the CT showed the mass in her lung had grown and was obstructing her bronchus, and there were also enlarged lymph nodes. A brain MRI showed lesions in Shari's brain, skull, and cervical spine. This cancer is not curable, but given that Shari is a non smoker and otherwise was in good health, we are pursuing treatment in hopes that her cancer can be managed.

Shari and her husband Bill are also taking care of her 91 year old mother-in-law, and her brother who has ALS lives with them. We are raising funds to support Shari's medical expenses and related costs. We will share general updates about Shari's journey on this platform as well. We have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of love and support from our family and friends.
