Help Christopher Davis's 3rd Generation Family Barn Rebuild After Fire

This week, a hardworking farming family in our community suffered a devastating loss when the barn at Christopher Davis’s third-generation family farm burned down.

Thankfully, they were able to get their cows out, but they lost other deeply loved animals in the fire, along with an entire year’s worth of hay. That hay represents countless hours of hard work and an important part of their livelihood, as they provide hay to many others throughout our community.

Many of you may know the Davis family from the Morrisville area. Rhonda has spent many years at SUNY Morrisville, working across HR, academics, and athletics, always willing to drop anything to help a student or coworker in need. Christopher also spent time at SUNY Morrisville in Ag Engineering, sharing his knowledge and experience with students. Others may know him through Davis-Willowbrook Service & Repair, where over the years he has helped countless people with heavy equipment repair, a tow, or simply by lending a hand when a neighbor needed one.

If you’ve had the pleasure of knowing them, you know how hard they work, how much they care for those around them, and that they wouldn’t hesitate to lend a hand when someone needs it. They are simply good people who have spent years showing up for others, and now I hope we can do the same for them.

Sometimes a loss is simply too big to carry on your own, and that’s when a community comes together to help one another rebuild.
