Stormy’s Fostering Costs
Welcome to our Support Registry.
this page is designed to give clear direction to those who wish to support Stormy’s fostering here at the independence house.

If you don’t have the funds to donate, please consider sharing this post and his page with your friends. We are also accepting donations of physical items, such as food, litter, cat treats, litter boxes, and anything else if you would like to bring it to our home I will direct message anyone the address if you would like to bring something and meet the whole family. Lastly, Thank you for reading all of this, I really do appreciate you taking the time to read what I have to say.

Stormy's story:

On August 23rd, I found a stray cat in my neighborhood. I thought it was my cat, and I chased him around, trying to get him inside my house him in only to realize when I got inside, and the lights were on, it was not my cat. I proceeded to check his microchip and call animal services to contact his owner and get him home. The only problem was she was not able to take him in due to complications with her housing situation. I do not want to send him to the shelter, and so myself and his mom have both decided that it would be best for him to stay here at my home with my cats and his new friends, Tater and Digit. This could change in the future, but for right now we are planning to house stormy for at least the next year.

That being said, I was not prepared to take on the financial responsibility of another cat. Nor is stormy’s mother prepared to provide financially for him while he is staying at my home. Not to mention that there is a cost associated with making room for another cat in my home separate from the recurring cost of food and litter, and healthcare.

Whether you’re willing to give money directly, send meals, or lend a hand, your support makes a real difference.

Cost analysis:

Based on the existing budget for tater and digit, stormy likely will cost ~(+/-)$150.00 per month on his own. This could be more or less  depending on the insurance quote and the cost of his needed diet.

This is all seperate from the need to purchase up front items necessary to create space for an additional cat in my home and get stormy protected such as:
-a new collar, tag, and GPS Tracker ($200)
-automatic feeder with microchip trap door so the other animals don’t eat his food,  ($200)
-another water fountain and filters to add another one located somewhere else in the house, ($50)
-an additional automatic litter box to ensure good coverage of the home with an additional pooper, ($450)
-up to two new cat trees to give adequate places for the cats to separate themselves, hide, and play
-flea and tick medication ($75/qtr)
-and other minor up front costs to taking in an additional cat to my home. ($100)

All that means that for the next year of living at my house stormy will likely cost ~$3,500.00 in case of a miscalculation, or some very generous people, I have set the goal for the fundraiser to $5,000.00. I will not accept more. Any excess funds will be spent on additional toys and accessories up to $1,000 max, and the rest left over will be donated to LCAS (support homeless pets initiative).

Final budget, shopping list, receipts, and costs will be shared with donors for their information. No funds will be allocated or used for personal expenses of mine.
