If you've ever met me, you know I'm usually the one organizing the gathering, making the spreadsheet, checking everyone in, and asking, "How can I help?"

Apparently, the universe looked at all that and said, "Let's see how she does on the other side of that equation."

(Rude.)

On August 4, I'll undergo a craniotomy to remove a brain tumor. After surgery, I'll be unable to work for 6 to 8 weeks while I focus on healing and recovery.

Unfortunately, my landlord has not yet introduced a "Brain Surgery? We'll circle back in October." payment plan. So while my brain takes some much-needed time off, the bills have every intention of arriving right on schedule.

Over the past seven months, I've poured my heart into building the Fellowship because I believe community changes lives. Watching people who were once strangers become friends has been one of the greatest gifts I've ever received. I never imagined I'd be the one needing that same community to carry me for a while, but here we are.

I'm hoping to raise $8,500 to help cover lost income during recovery, medical expenses, prescriptions, travel to appointments, groceries, and everyday living expenses so I can focus on healing instead of financial stress.

Asking for help is... well... let's just say it's not my favorite spiritual practice. I'd much rather be organizing the meal train than needing one. But one of the hardest - and most beautiful - lessons I'm learning is that community isn't just about showing up for others. It's also about allowing others to show up for you.

If you're able to donate, thank you. If you're able to share this page, thank you. If you're able to sign up for a meal, run an errand, help with transportation, or simply keep me in your thoughts, prayers, intentions, or send a little good energy out into the universe, thank you.

Every kindness matters.

I have a beautiful life waiting for me. Foxmere Cottage still has memories to make. The Fellowship still has gatherings to host. There are books to read, campfires to gather around, friends to hug, and far too many terrible puns left to tell.

This tumor is part of my story. It doesn't get to write the ending. My goal is simple: Heal well. Get back to building community.

Thank you for reading, for sharing, for giving if you're able, and for walking beside me through this chapter.

With love,
Shannon
