PREVIOUS UPDATE:
All are invited to celebrate Sarah’s life and legacy on Saturday, May 17, at 11:00am, with a memorial service at Mountain Bible Church, in Los Gatos (https://www.mountainbible.church/contact.html).
ORIGINAL INFORMATION:
Welcome to Sarah Jo Manson’s Support Registry.
On February 16, Sarah went to urgent care for pain and nausea related to a month’s long battle with gastrointestinal issues. The CT scan revealed our biggest fears, as Sarah was told that she has colon cancer that has spread to her liver and lungs.
At this time, we are waiting for a prognosis and praying that Sarah is given the chance to fight this battle, which she is ready to tackle for her husband Grant and two daughters, Haley (10 yo) and Ella (6 yo). Sarah is young and otherwise healthy and has a vision of building a team of medical professionals that can take on and defeat this.
Our focus now is strengthening Sarah and her family to help them all prepare for this battle. We are asking for nutritious cancer-fighting meals for Sarah (soups, broths, smoothies, soft easy to digest foods), as well as for meals for Grant and the girls. Sarah is mostly eating soft foods and is on a liquid diet, for now.
The girls and Grant love foods like pizza, spaghetti, tortellini, Mac n cheese, Mexican, fruit, veggies, and breakfast foods. They also love local Los Gatos restaurants (Chinese, Mexican, Super Duper Burger).
If you are volunteering to send a meal and need directions, please reach out to Sarah’s sister Kate by TEXT message at (510) 329-6554.
There will be an ice chest next to the porch swing by the front door. Please leave meals there between the hours of 4-6pm. Please do not disturb the family so that Sarah has the space to heal.
As we learn more, we may update the registry with additional opportunities to lend a hand.
We are reminded of and welcome God’s joy as He pitches His tent and encourages us with His presence.
Joy - Biblical joy is a deep and lasting emotion that comes from knowing Jesus and trusting in God's promises, rather than being dependent on external circumstances. It is often described as a feeling of good pleasure and happiness that is rooted in a relationship with God and the hope found in His word.
The Tent of God - It literally means the word encamped, or “tabernacled,” among us. God pitches a tent and says, “I am going to wander with you.”
