Our family recently received news we never expected to hear. Our dad, Ray Martinez, has been diagnosed with throat cancer.
We are now facing the next step in this journey, getting him the treatment he needs to fight this.

Unfortunately, one of the biggest obstacles standing in the way right now is financial. My family does not currently have enough funds to cover the upfront costs required to begin his cancer treatment and we are at a standstill until then. As his daughter, it is incredibly difficult knowing that the care he needs is there, but finances are creating another burden during an already frightening time.
If you know our dad, you know that Ray has spent years showing up for other people.
He is a well-known and active member of the Blanco Baptist Church and has spent the last decade volunteering his time as a youth sports coach in our blanco community. He has coached and encouraged countless kids over the years not because he was getting paid or because he had to, but because he genuinely loves our kids and our community.
He’s been the coach who shows up.

And now we’re hoping our community can help show up for him.

We are starting this fundraiser to help cover the cost of Ray’s cancer treatment and the medical expenses that come along with it. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help us get him closer to receiving the treatment he needs.
If you aren’t able to donate financially, we completely understand. Sharing this fundraiser, praying for Ray, and helping us spread the word means just as much to our family.
Our faith is incredibly important to us, and we are trusting God as we walk through this chapter together. We know there may be difficult days ahead, but our dad will not be fighting this battle alone.
After all the years Coach Ray has shown up for Blanco’s kids and our community, we’re asking Blanco to show up for Coach Ray. 💙
