In Support of WARRIOR EMERALD'S JOURNEY

WARRIOR EMERALD'S JOURNEY
Hi Friends and Family,

We are reaching out to share the journey of our sweet and determined girl, Emerald Marie. Emerald was born with Glutaric Acidemia Type 1 (GA1), a rare metabolic disorder that can affect her movement and development. She has also faced a stroke-like brain injury in utero, leading to extra challenges. But being the warrior she is, Emerald makes amazing progress each day.

Β She can now hold her head up, communicate with her special device, and even take steps with her gait trainer. We are so proud of her achievements and are dedicated to helping her continue on this path.

Providing Emerald with the necessary therapy is crucial. It's thanks to therapy that she can build on her hard-won abilities. This includes physical, occupational, speech, and feeding therapies, music, inclusive play, as well as intensive therapies like DMI.Β

Many appointments require us to travel long distances, and the expenses, therapies, travel, equipment build up fast. We need your help to ensure she can keep becoming stronger and more independent.Β

Your support, whether big or small, is invaluable and appreciated from the bottom of our hearts.

πŸ’š Emerald has GA1, a rare metabolic disorder that can cause neurological injury and developmental challenges.

🧠 Emerald has significant motor and developmental delays related to her brain injury, affecting movement, head control, sitting, communication, and more.

πŸ’ͺ She receives multiple therapies, including PT, OT, speech/feeding therapy, and intensive DMI therapy. (Most of Emeralds appointments are a minimum of 45 mins away.) We have 3-6 appointments a week.

🌱 Emerald is making progress. She has gained head control, improved sitting ability, uses assistive communication, and can take steps with her gait trainer.
