Hello family and friends,
For the past nine years, Rachelle has faced cancer with extraordinary courage, resilience, and hope. It has been a long and difficult journey—physically, emotionally, spiritually, and financially—but through every season, God has remained faithful.
Most people do not know the full extent of this journey because living as normal a life as possible has always been incredibly important to Rachelle—not only for herself, but especially for Nolani our daughter. We have wanted Nolani's childhood to be filled with joy, laughter, and wonderful memories rather than hospital rooms and treatments. While cancer has been a constant part of our lives, we have worked hard to ensure it did not become the center of hers.
Even with insurance, our family has paid approximately $50,000 each year in out-of-pocket treatment-related expenses. These costs extend far beyond medical bills and include travel, lodging, transportation, supportive care, medications, and many other necessities that make treatment possible. After nine years, the financial burden has become overwhelming.
As many of you know, there are excellent treatments available here in the United States that can help extend life and slow the progression of cancer. We are incredibly grateful for those options and the care I have received over the past nine years.
We are now prayerfully pursuing an innovative treatment at Immunocine Cancer Center that is not currently available in the United States. This treatment uses dendritic cell therapy, a personalized form of immunotherapy. In simple terms, doctors use my own dendritic cells—cells that help direct the immune system—and combine them with information from my own cancer cells. They essentially "teach" my immune system to recognize the unique blueprint of my cancer so it can better identify and attack it. The activated dendritic cells are then injected into my lymph nodes to help stimulate a targeted immune response.
This approach has shown amazing results, and we are prayerfully hopeful that it will provide another opportunity for healing. For those who would like to learn more about this treatment, I have posted a link below.
We are seeking help to cover the many ancillary expenses that insurance does not cover, allowing us to focus our energy on treatment and recovery rather than the growing financial burden.
If you feel led to support us financially, no gift is too small, and every contribution makes a difference. If you are unable to give, sharing our story and praying for us is an incredible gift as well. We believe God can do more than we ask or even imagine- Ephesians 3:20 and the prayers of the righteous availth much.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Thank you for your prayers, your encouragement, your generosity, and for walking beside our family throughout this journey. Every prayer is felt, every act of kindness is appreciated, and every reminder that we are not walking this road alone strengthens us more than words can express.
