In Support of Medical Care in the West Bank

Hello family and friends! I'm reaching out to share that next week, I'll be heading back to Hebron in the West Bank for a 10-day medical mission with Heal Palestine. I'm joining an incredible team of emergency medicine residents—Zaid Alazawi, Maryam Khan, and Aniruddha Pongurlekar—along with Dr. Azam Qureshi, a pediatric ophthalmologist. 

The primary goal is to work hand in hand with local clinicians to provide much-needed emergency and eye care. But beyond provision of emergent resources, the over arching goal in mind is to build a lasting exchange with a training site in Palestine — one that goes beyond supplies and equipment. By bringing residents to work alongside theirs, their team gains exposure to updated standards of care and new training methods, while our residents gain a formative experience in global health and delivering care in difficult terrain.

We're raising funds for important medical equipment, like ultrasound devices and video laryngoscopes, that will help us give the best care possible. We also aim to support local healthcare workers with training and supplies. Any funds raised beyond what the mission itself requires will either be distributed directly to patients and families in Hebron or given to Heal Palestine to support their ongoing work.
