Hi! My name is Greta Corneliusen. I am the current jumps coach at Concordia University Nebraska, lover of running, and strive to live my life by the motto of “dreams are meant to be chased, not just talked about.” This spring, this motto hit home just a little bit more.

On March 13th in Kansas City, Missouri while driving back from a spring break road trip, 4 of my dear friends and athletes were in a head on collision with a vehicle going the wrong direction on the interstate going 75mph. While two of my friends walked out the other side with minimal injuries, my friend Noah Ramirez suffered a traumatic brain injury, multiple skull and facial fractures, and a broken femur. My friend Matthew Wing passed away, leaving his wife, Brianna Wing expecting their first baby in early November. This accident has brought our track family together in deep ways, and our community has rallied around these boys and their families as they face the aftermath of this tragic accident. Today, Noah is relearning to walk, talk, read, eat, and go about daily life and in just five short months, he is a walking testimony of God’s hand of faithfulness for all to see.

For me, running has become so much more than just moving my body for exercise purposes. Movement and the ability to challenge myself in various ways has become one of the greatest gifts as it gives me a time reflect, pray, grieve, and think about my friends. Last year, I successfully trained for the 24 Hours of Palmer Lake Endurance Run and completed 65 laps, totaling 53 miles. The itch to do this race again has hit, but this time with a much bigger meaning. My gift of running and moving my body cannot be used in vain anymore, it is so much bigger than myself.

This year, I will be competing at the 24 Hours of Palmer Lake Endurance Run with the goal of raising money to provide diapers for Brianna’s baby girl and to bless the doctors that have poured countless hours and days into making Noah whole again.

The goal is simple. 24 hours. 76 laps. 100km. 62.1 miles.

Your participation is simple. You choose to sponsor a lap based on the dollar amount you would like to donate. Want to buy lap 47? Donate 47 dollars. Each lap I will take a photo of me with all the sponsor names for that lap! If you feel led to donate above and beyond, please feel free. ALL money will go directly to these two families, I am simply just running and thinking about my friends while I run!

If you would like to join me in this journey or have any questions, please feel free to message, comment, or donate. If you would like to follow my journey, follow me on Instagram or on Facebook @greta_corneliusen on September 26th 2026 for race updates and donation updates!
